🕑 Added 2021-12-11 19:55:19 +0000 UTC This afternoon I started to shoot a bit of content, in the stylization as I normally do; a short, "suggestive" video clip. Not exactly inspired content but still cheeky and meėts my quota aim to post at least once daily. But as I was trying to capture the right angles... I started to have new ideas and a different direction I could take this little short clip. The thoughts were distracting, I thought, "I don't got time for all that right now...but maybe I'll flesh it out another time for another content project..." But those video content ideas just started to expand, and then I was building on them, growing into a whole ass script and plot and creative direction that would definitely take days to film produce, if it is even possible at all! I got so caught up with trying to figure out if the video would translate like I saw it in my mind, with no cameraman... (*ugh why I always have to be the whole damn crew*?!) • modeling • scene acting • self-directing • shooting all footage myself • light technician • synchronizing different cameras... • producing new foley sounds • the inevitably tedious post-edit.... 😅 I literally had to stop and sit down, scrap my initial idea for today and get out a pad of paper. I wrote it all out, the ideas, the sequences, made a timeline of the script, but then I realized I didn't know how to capture certain effects with the limited equipment I have (*my Amazon wishlist in bio has my most needed equipment additions if you wanna get me a Christmas gift*). This realization lead me down a rabbit hole for a couple hours of watching different videography and photography tutorials for research. By the time I think I had the video direction figured out, even without the right equipment (*cough, Amazon wishlist, cough cough*) the sun was getting low in the sky, creeping up behind the building in front of mine, blocking what was left of daylight. Nothing got shot today, and yet I still spent at least 5 hours of my day on the process. Woof. Now that I have it planned out though, I'm excited to attempt it again tomorrow. *I feel inspired*. Today is the first time I've felt inspired and excited creatively, in many, many months. This statement doesn't sound like a big deal, that I'm "inspired", but it's actually enormous. I think I'll unpack that more fully and do a vlog series about it soon. ...more on that later tho. Sorry I don't have anything new for you. But today was a good day. What was **supposed to be** only 2 hours of shooting/editing to produce a 60 second video clip (that's how long content creating takes) became a whole ass feature film idea that will inevitably take half the week film and edit. Can't wait to show you.
