There were some really cute Mexican ranches on the other side of the river, crazy looking wolf spiders and some of the best star-gazing I’ve ever seen. I wish I had a camera better than this iPhone because it really does not do the landscape (or my ass) justice. I hiked Santa Elena Canyon, Upper and Lower Burro Messa, Boquillas Canyon, stopped at nearly every view point, and did some back-country camping. My front-wheel-drive Rav4 couldn’t make it to Ernst Tinaja, the trail I was most excited about, but that just makes me more determined to come back on my dirt bike. It was a great first trip! I’ll have cell-service for a bit now, be sure to dm me and say hi. xo
