Avocado is probably one of my favorite fruits (I always thought it was a vegetable, but turns out that it's a fruit! Botany 🤓) It tastes good, is very filling and healthy - what a wonder! And how many delicious recipes can you come up with using it? For example, guacamole - avocado mush with the addition of tomatoes, herbs, spices and lime juice - delicious 😋
Guacamole is a dish of the ancient Aztecs. The Spanish conquistadors called it "poor man's butter". In my country, it certainly can't be called a poor man's dish, since avocados don't grow here and are quite pricey 😸
But still, from time to time, I find an opportunity to enjoy them!
Fun fact: Only men went to harvest avocados, the basis of guacamole, among the Aztecs, because it was believed that the appearance of this fruit could evoke erotic associations in women's minds 🤭
