About 3.5 hours before giving birth, I was relaxing on a birthing ball, surrounded by the calming scent of lavender essential oil and the gentle sound of birds chirping. While I loved my home birth experiences, this time I chose a hospital birth because a home midwife wasn’t an option, and I faced some challenges during my pregnancy.
