Today is not only Black Friday but also St. Andrew's Day! โจ This day had a special meaning in our part of Europe. On the evening of St. Andrew's Day Eve, unmarried girls were doing fortune-telling related to marriage - whether they would soon get married, what their future husband's name would be, or from which side he would come ๐ฐ.
In Poland, this custom has survived, although it has changed its form. Now St. Andrew's Day is celebrated by both genders at casual parties, where they do some fortune-telling for fun. The most popular fortune-telling is wax pouring - wax from a lit candle is poured through a hole in the key into cold water in a pot ๐ฏ๏ธ The shape of the cooled mass or its shadow cast on the wall tells us what awaits us in the near future! Though the results are treated with a pinch of salt ๐
