🕑 Added 2020-09-26 18:15:16 +0000 UTC When I first started taking ‘self-portraits’ I didn’t have any proper equipment… I didn’t even have a camera I could use for it. But the need to create prevailed, so I just used what I had. (What pretty much all of us have) My phone. I would prop it up, putting a candle or a glass in front of it so it wouldn’t fall over and just rolled a video and did some kind of movements that I thought might look interesting. Then afterwards I would go through the video and cut out any still images that spoke to me and I would try to edit them as best as I could… Looking back now, my movement seems unsure and awkward to me. I almost can not believe I used to work with such low quality images… Not only are the jpegs but they are basically just screenshots… But oh well… There is no shame there :) I actually have to say I feel proud that I didn’t let myself be stopped by any of this and looking back at nearly a year and a half of this, I am impressed at how far I have come… How much I have learned and developed and at all the incredible people I have gotten to work with in this time. I can barely imagine where I will be a year from now… If you find these videos interesting, I have a bunch of them in real time as well (this one is very sped up).
