I was told it was some type of buoy used in ocean shipping. The aging lines in the steel brought out its beauty which was exemplified by the black and white. BTW - this was all shot on 35mm film. Not digital. This is 2000. We did not have those conveniences like we do now. E. Niles Clark has two cameras and several lenses. He kept one as black and white and the other for color. He shot several rolls of film that night. And when he processed them, he always did double prints to give a set to me. That is a pretty large expense in film, developing, and printing. In 2018, when I sold my home and was releasing myself of the weight of my belongings, I digitized all the photos. And now I can share them with you. The negatives no longer exist.
