It’s cool to not feel as reliant on it as I once was and to truly appreciate the true beauty and softness that exists in a bare face. Not to mention all the time I save by not putting it on or having to take it off. All of that time saved has been invested into my art practice, which has made a massive positive difference in both my confidence and in my enjoyment of it. The social media age has caused us all to collectively and massively increase our expectations not only of ourselves, but of everyone else too, in life and online. I’ve been thinking about that more and more lately and I guess my thoughts about it are spilling out here. It’s a huge reason why I’ve stopped participating in social media for the most part. I’ve been focusing on using the internet only as the tool it was intended to be, instead of continuing to allow it to use me. Not going to lie, choosing to make this shift during the pandemic has been a lonely road but it has given me no choice but to turn inward and work on building stronger foundations and discovering deeper layers to my existence. It definitely feels like I’ve taken the red pill lmao. I guess what I’m saying is that I want to be apart of the conversation that helps people get their lives, privacy, and time back if they want it. What would you do if you only used the internet for things that genuinely benefit you? What would you learn? What would you discover? The answer is so many things.
